Roman Vícha (CZ)


He was born in Ostrava on July 1, 1979 in a family of musicians. Not only his father, but both grandfathers were drummers. He has been playing drums since he was thirteen. Later he graduated from the Janáček Conservatory in Ostrava.

In 1999 he moved to Prague, where he later graduated from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and and VOŠ – jazz department. Currently he has been playing with many leading Czech and Slovak artists, working with foreign musicians as well and is a sought-after studio player. He has been teaching percussion instruments at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory for 6 years.

He has been mainly focused on jazz, acid jazz and similar genres where he can apply variety of strong groove rhythms.
