Bert Boeren
Bert took up the trombone at the age of sixteen, and became a teacher himself in 1987 at several Conservatories in Holland. Since 2003 he is teaching the Jazz Trombone at the Conservatory of Amsterdam and from September 2015 also in Rotterdam. He travels frequently giving international Master classes.
Boeren has toured worldwide, both as soloist and as a member of various bands. He has played in the Eurojazz Big Band, the Dutch Swing College Band and the Bob Brookmeyer Big Band. He's currently playing with the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw with guest-performers such as Chick Corea, Benny Golson, James Carter and others. He has played with artists such as Scott Hamilton, Warren Vaché, Clark Terry, Arnett Cobb,Ack van Rooyen, Toots Thielemans, Deborah Brown, Hans Dulfer, Tom Baker, Pat Martino, Barry Harris, Wicked Jazzsounds, Bill Reichenbach, Jimmy Heath and many others.
